About The Event
**** Due to the impending rain in the forecast, this event has been cancelled for 2018, our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. ****
If you've never ridden on Isle Madame, here's your chance to visit the quiet side of Cape Breton Island. Isle Madame awaits you with new pavement, low traffic, a scenic route along almost flat roads, and now a good place to stop for lunch.
Choose a 20km, 40km, or 60km route to suite your ability and interest.
The ride starts at the end of the bridge at Lennox Passage (parking available on the right side of the road). Ride through the countryside to D'Escousse: 10km (20km return).
The route continues around Cap La Ronde, Rocky Bay and back to D'Escousse for lunch or beer at the new pub, the Groundswell, or for an ice cream at the yacht club on the other side of the road -- your choice. Route to this point: 30km; to return to the starting point, another 10km, will make a total distance of 40km.
An optional detour to Arichat will add another 20km, for a total distance of 60km.
Join us --- ride together for safety and for fun!
There is no cost for the ride to Velo members, non-members will be charged $2.00 for a one-day membership. Bring money to buy your own lunch/snack in D'Escousse. Your ride leader will be Micheline Guillot.
