THE CABOT TRAIL: Named one of the TOP 10 Cycling destination in the World by Lonely Planet in 2010, and since toured by thousands of cyclists from all around the world, the Cabot Trail is a “MUST” on the log of every cyclists. 300 km of paved roads, from softly rolling terrain to steep climbs winding its way through the quiet Margaree Valley on the first day, then coasting along the shores of the Gulf of St.Lawrence, the scenic Highlands National Park to end along the scenic coastal Atlantic coast of Cape Breton Island. Cabot Trail in 4 Days is a fully supporter tour where everyone cycle at their own pace and style. No pressure.
ITINERARY: Clockwise direction leaving the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s Bay on Sunday July 24th to Wednesday July 27th.
Day 1, To Margaree Harbour, 85km. Day 2, to Pleasant Bay, 70km. Day 3, .... to Ingonish, 71km Day 4, to Gaelic College, 71km. There will be optional side tour suggested to shorten or lengthen the day’s ride.
DETAILS: We provide: 3 nights hotel/motel accommodation, luggage transportation, bike mechanic assistance, support vehicle at your service should you need a lift or other assistance, healthy meals Sunday evening to Wednesday morning, Park fees, snack food enroute. Children 16 - 18 years, must be accompanied by an adult.
PREPARATION: Cycling the Cabot Trail requires a moderate level of fitness. Bicycles must be in good working order.
COST: $495./pers. double accommodation; $695./pers. single accommodation.
NOTE: If you are also joining the Tour du Lac Bras d'Or tour, total cost for both tours is: $895. a saving of $85.
REGISTRATION: before June 1, 2016, $50. (deductible from total cost); between June 1 and July 10, 2016 - $75. (50$. deductible from total cost). No registration accepted after July 10, 2016
Final payment (cost - $50.) is due before July 10th.
“First Come, First Serve!” The payment of Registration fees will confirm a spot to the first 40 registered participants on the Tour. A “Waiting List” will be kept to fill vacancies if any. Those on the “Waiting List” who will not be called to replace a cancellation will be reimbursed 100%.
CANCELLATION FEES: $0.00 before June 1st, $35. from June 1st to July 10th. Note: Cancellation after July 10 will not be refunded.
IMPORTANT: Because the organizers must meet certain conditions attached to the Group Rates, (i.e. important non-refundable deposit 60 days in advance - May 22nd) the organizers reserve the right to cancel the Tour and reimburse all fees collected if the number of registrations has not reached 20 by July 10th.
