Bike Week Event – Police Escorted Ride

Location: Sydney Shopping Centre parking lot

Time: 6:30pm, Monday June 12th

On June 12th, join us for the 21st anniversary of this world wide event to honour bicyclists who have been killed or injured by motorists while cycling on public roadways.

This will be a highly-visible, slow-paced, police-escorted ride through some of the busiest locations in Sydney. The goal of the Ride of Silence is to honour those who have been killed or injured by motorists, to raise awareness that cyclists are here, and to promote cycling safety by asking that we all share the road!

This police-escorted ride will begin by gathering in the parking lot of the Sydney Shopping Centre at 6:30 pm. This route is 10km and is appropriate for all skill levels. We ask that all cyclists wear properly fitted helmets, follow all traffic rules, and remain silent for the ride.

Although we ride in silence, we will not be quiet! This ride aims to raise the awareness of motorists, city officials, and the public that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honour the lives of those who have been killed or injured by motorists. Please invite your friends, relatives, and local leaders to this important event!
