Velo Cape Breton "Ride Right" Program

Ride Right is a two-day program that helps build your abilities and confidence to improve riding your bicycle on public roads. Subjects taught include proper techniques for starting and stopping, straight line riding while using hand signals, shoulder checks and maintaining proper lane position. In addition there will be  instruction on minor bike maintanance and repair, fitting helmets, bike setup, clothing and equipment.  

Participants will need to provide their own bicycle in good working order and a properly fitting helmet.

1.  What is Ride Right?

Ride right is a two-day program that helps build your abilities and confidence to improve  riding your bicycle on public roads.

2.  Who should take the Ride Right program?

Any adult who can ride a bicycle and wants to gain more confidence in their riding abilities.

3. What does the program Include?

Proper techniques for starting and stopping. Straight line riding while using hand signals, shoulder checks and maintaining proper lane position. In addition there will be instruction on minor bike maintenance and repair, fitting of helmets, bike setup, clothing and equipment.

4.  What is the cost?

The Ride Right program is offered by Velo Cape Breton for free if you are a Velo Cape Breton Member.

5.  How do I get a Velo Cape Breton Membership and how much does it cost?

6.  What is the date and time of the next Ride Right program?

Saturday, Jul 18 and Sunday, Jul 19. Time: 9 A.M. each day. (rain date: July 25 and 26).

8.  What else do I need to know?

You need to provide your own bicycle and helmet. Your bike should be in good working order, and your helmet should be properly fitted. You need to have a Velo Cape Breton Membership so you are covered by Insurance.
